Requirements
Such Officer shall be a principal, officer, or management level employee from an insurance agency. Such Officer shall be a current paid member of the Association. Such Officers license shall be in good standing with the State.

LAAIA is a voluntary membership organization. It does take a mixture of certain personal qualities and character to be able to serve as a Board member. To be a good Board member we do expect you to dedicate yourself as follows:
- Attend the Annual Planning Session
- Attend all scheduled meetings
- Attend Monthly Board of Directors Meetings
- Participate in committees and possible chair a committee
- Contribute and assist in the annual convention
- Contribute and assist in identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective members for the Chapters
- Contribute and assist in promoting Education to our members.
- Identify, contribute and assist in promoting membership benefits
Expectations
Board members should rely on fellow Board members and the Executive Director to act as partners, working together to carry out the organization's mission.
Board members should be able to rely on the willingness of Board colleagues to fulfill the responsibilities and work expectations of the leadership.
A Board Member shall promote and foster the vision of the President and the mission of the organization. A Board Member shall have the capacity to motivate people toward the fulfillment of that vision and mission.
All Board Members shall commit full Confidentially of all items that take place inside Board Meetings.
Board of Directors Positions
The LAAIA is governed by the Board of Directors, which are responsible for all of the Association’s functions. The Board of Directors consists of an Immediate Past-President, President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary and a minimum of two (2) Directors, with a maximum of thirteen (13) Directors elected for a two (2) year term. No Director shall serve more than two (2) terms or four (4) years in the same position unless an exception is made by resolution approved by 2/3 of existing Directors.
In order to be considered as an Officer or Director, an application for the specific position for which you are applying shall be submitted.

The nominating committee will review all applications given and have personal interviews for the candidates that are being considered.
